In 1950, at the behest of the Friars Minor and the financial support of some U.S. households, are initiated the construction of the "Franciscan Cenacolo": place designed to welcome and accommodate, in the Franciscan spirit, pilgrims visiting Assisi, holy to Christianity and a destination for all those who have always wanted to get close to S. Francesco visiting the places that have seen the birth and work.

The Franciscan Cenacolo was inaugurated in 1954 and dedicated to St. Antonio.
